It would be nice if we could have the time remaining on the display screen, in a floating window, as well as in the headset.
My God this is so simple, why don’t we have this? Synthesis has this. It puts a simple timer window on the desktop that shows the remaining time and it’s resizable and always on top.
If you won’t do this, make it an api that outputs to a text file and I’ll make one of my own. This is stupid easy to make and is a no brainer.
Hey @Bluff City Vr
Thanks for reaching out and I understand your frustration. We have escalated this feature request to our Product and the Developer teams for further discussion. With that being said, software is complicated and our developer resources are finite. While we'd love to have every great feature, we have to be strategic in how we use our resources to maximize business impact to the greatest number of customers.
Thanks again for your comment and we'll let you know if/when there is any progress on this!
It would be great if the customer had a reminder when he has like 1 more min to play, and a countdown for the last 10secs... because it feels so bad to be kicked out of a game when you're 100% into it.
I really hope that the SBVR team is working on this one. It would of course be great for the customers here with a group that want to split their station time. It would also be great for me and the folks helping me out; we wouldn't need to keep walking over to my reception desk PC to be reminded of who's next to get taken out of their VR headset and how long.
Upvoting for having a timer displayed for the audience.
Having it in the HMD isn't a priority for me and if it were implemented there I'd want it optional (so I could disable it).
Having this would avoid the constant questions we get about how long someone has left or which of our booths will be availble next.
Hey @Ross Clark! Thanks for your suggestion! We have another request for this feature that I am going to merge yours into.
Time reminder sounds please. Would be good to also configure the option
Yeah, this would be nice. I keep an eye on the Station Monitor and I'll walk by people and tell them when they're getting around that 5 minutes remaining point.
Great idea! Also would like this mirrored to the desktop if possible, so that spectators can see these warnings too (parents often ask how much time is left to go).
I'd like an option for reminders at 10mins remaining, 5mins remaining, 2mins, and 10 sec countdown. All optional of course
Hello @Baptiste Chamorel,
Thank you for your feedback! I know it won't solve your issue entirely, but in the meantime have you thought about playing with the following options?
- Go to your Operator Panel > Stations > select your station > Additional Options. There is an option called "Quit Content When Play Time Is Up".
- When it is on, when the timer is up, the game will quit and it will return to the launcher environment.
- When it is off, when the time is up, the game will quit and the player will see the game overlay with options to call for help to add time and continue playing or to quit.
I hope it will help a little. Thank you!
@Marie Lamouret: Hello Marie,
Thanks for your answer. I already tried it, but anyhow the problem remains : each customer gets surprised by the end of the session and they don't really like it. A visual and/or auditive reminder would help them aprehend the end of their session.
Thanks anyway !
@Marie Lamouret: Please make this optional if it is incorporated. We definitely do not want this in our arcade.
@Marie Lamouret: Hi, just wanted to add that a warning actually helps me know how invested customers are in an experience by a 5 minute verbal notice and knowing to ask for more time or not. The verbal notice of course takes away from the immersion.
This along with a button below "call for help" saying "Add More Time" (which Ill create a new post for) should integrate a smooth transition to be able to ask without having to interrupt the experience.
